Creating Your First Bot

This guide walks you through creating your first SimpleChat bot. In just a few minutes, you'll have a working chat widget ready to embed on your website.

Step 1: Start the Bot Creation Wizard

From your dashboard:

  1. Click the + Create Bot button
  2. Or click on the empty bot card that says "Create Your First Bot"

The bot creation wizard will open with three steps:

  1. Choose a Plan
  2. Bot Details
  3. Payment (for paid plans)

Step 3: Configure Bot DetailsBot Name

Choose a name for your bot that customers will see:

  • Use your company name or support department
  • Example: "Acme Support", "TechCorp Help"
Website URL

Enter the website where you'll use the bot:

  • Example: https://www.yoursite.com
  • This helps us optimize the AI responses
Telegram Setup

Even for Basic plan bots, you need to connect Telegram for live support:

Managed Mode (Recommended)
  • Uses SimpleChat's shared Telegram bot
  • Fastest setup - just enter your Group ID
  • Perfect for most users
Custom Mode (Advanced)
  • Use your own branded Telegram bot
  • Requires creating a bot via @BotFather
  • Full control over bot name and avatar
Getting Your Telegram Group ID
  1. Create a Telegram group for support
  2. Add @SimpleChatSaasBot to the group
  3. Make the bot an Admin
  4. Send any message in the group
  5. The bot will reply with your Group ID

Or use a Group ID getter bot:

  1. Add @RawDataBot to your group temporarily
  2. It will show your group ID (starts with -100)
  3. Remove the bot after getting the ID

Step 5: Success!

After completing the wizard:

  1. Your bot is created and ready
  2. You'll see it on your dashboard
  3. Click the bot card to open Bot Studio

  2. Configure AI responses - Train your AI assistant (Premium)
  3. Embed the widget - Add the code to your website
  4. Test it out - Send some test messages
